NVIDIA Tegra 4 details leak out

Currently, NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 mobile chipset is the oldest of the bunch when compared to the equivalent offerings from Samsung’s Exynos team and Qualcomm and is the most in need of a refresh so it is no surprise that details over Tegra 4 “Wayne” have been leaked online.
The Tegra 4 chip will reportedly feature the same 4-plus-1 ARM core set-up as Tegra 3. This should include four Cortex-A15 cores and a low-power Cortex-A7 core for light tasks to prolong battery life. GPU performance could increase by up to six times over the current Tegra 3 chip with the inclusion of 72 graphics cores. Dual channel memory will bring much needed memory bandwidth to high resolution mobile displays while it will be manufactured on a 28nm HPL (also known as HKMG) process.
LTE won’t be integrated into NVIDIA’s Tegra chips until late 2013 but ‘Wayne’ will also bring USB 3.0 support, 4K video playback and support for resolutions up to 2560 by 1600.
We are currently expecting an official announcement at the Consumer Electronics Show or Mobile World Congress in the first quarter of 2013 with devices rolling out by Summer.
