The first big Fallout 4 patch is here

We’ve all been playing Bethesda’s latest wasteland adventure, Fallout 4, for a month or so now. However, the game is still a little rough around the edges, fortunately, Bethesda is still working on it and the first big patch for Fallout 4 has launched today for the PC, Xbox One and PS4. A beta patch was available for the PC prior, though most of the fixes have only been implemented now.
On the PC side, the number keys can now be remapped. On top of that, there have been some memory and stability improvements made, which will hopefully help provide a more consistent frame rate across all platforms.

Other fixes from the announcement include:
  • Performance improvements inside the Corvega Assembly Plant
  • Optimizations to skinned decal rendering
  • Fixed issue with player becoming stuck in terminals
  • Fixed issue where equipped weapons become locked after completing Reunions
  • Fixed issue with “When Freedom Calls” where the quest would not complete
  • During “Confidence Man” fixed issue where player’s health would continuously regenerate
  • Fixed crash related to jumping into water and reloading saved games
  • Fixed issue where Launcher would not save God Rays Quality setting properly (PC)
This brings the game up to version 1.2 and hopefully alleviates some of the issues people have been having across platforms. Obviously Fallout 4 is a huge game, so not everything will be fixed in one patch, so expect more updates over the coming months.
